  • Collection Profiles of Academic Libraries: Comparative Collection Analysis for Cooperation. Final Report. Paskoff, Beth Perrault, Anna Academic Libraries Comparative Analysis Data Analysis Data Collection Higher Education Library Collection Development Library Collections Library Cooperation Library Research Needs Assessment Shared Library Resources A shelflist sampling project was conducted at six academic libraries in Louisiana--Loyola University, Louisiana State University, Nicholls State University, Southeastern Louisiana University, Southern University, and Tulane University--and the University of California at Santa Barbara. The main objective of the data-gathering and analysis using the shelflist sampling methodology was to compare segments of the holdings of the participating libraries. The ultimate objective of the study was to create an information base of collection profiles which could be used to foster cooperative and collaborative collection development. This report begins with a narrative summary of the project covering the project history; the methodology used; the results of the data analysis; the potential utility of the research results; and activities during the project, after the grant period, and in the future. Three appendices constitute the major part of the report: (1) data analysis with selected graphs; (2) copies of the data reports for the participating libraries; and (3) a final accounting for the expenditure of the grant funds.
