Annotated Bibliographies Books Childrens Libraries Childrens Literature Emergent Literacy Learning Activities Preschool Education Reading Material Selection Reading Materials Recreational Reading This collection of materials is part of the Project LEAP (Library's Educational Alternative for Preschoolers) program which, in response to the need for quality literature in child care settings, has created 100 storytime kits, 80 puppet shows, and a model 300-title child care center library. The collection of materials is in 3 parts: (1) a circulation list which lists the 200 concepts for which storytime activity kits have been created; (2) storytime kit contents sheets (listing kit title, book titles for the kit, useful objects, and cassette) and activity sheets for 3 storytime kits on the topics "Mittens,""Multicultural," and "Red"; and (3) the booklet "LEAP into Books," an annotated listing of 300 books for children from preschool through age 10, intended as a buying guide for those who want quality literature for children, whether they are child care personnel buying for child care centers developing a collection or parents buying for their homes.
