The guide is divided into the following sections, each of which includes photocopied examples from the materials discussed: (1) beginning research with dictionaries and encyclopedias; (2) locating books; (3) locating periodical articles; (4) international conventions and treaty research; (5) judicial decisions and arbitral awards; and (6) teachings of the most qualified publicists. The section on international conventions and treaties is the longest in the guide, covering definitions, compendia, indexes to treaty collections, electronic databases, treaties to which the United States may not be party, texts of treaties, and international, regional, and nongovernment organizations.
