The module is designed for use in the juvenile section of a public library that maintains a card catalog. It can easily be adapted to any library setting that utilizes a juvenile card catalog. Although computer-based card catalogs are becoming more popular, the module can provide young library users with the fundamentals of card catalog use. Acquisition of this fundamental knowledge will assist the user in the transition to computer card catalog terminals. The module includes learner objectives, assessment, and practice exercises. It has been field tested on a select group from the target population. (Twelve figures illustrate catalog use. Seven practice activities and a final exercise are included.) (Author/SLD)
