The perceptions of library media specialists and teachers provided data to determine whether library media specialists performed those 37 services more, less, or the same in Coalition schools as compared with their performance of those same services in traditional schools. A questionnaire was administered to 151 randomly selected library media specialists and teachers in the member schools of the Coalition of Essential Schools. Responses from 60 library media specialists and 48 teachers provided the following findings: library media specialists perceived that they performed 11 services more and 24 services the same in Coalition schools as they did in traditional schools, and teachers perceived that media specialists performed 21 services more and 15 services the same in Coalition schools. The results indicate some differences in library media specialists' and teachers' perceptions of the 37 services in Coalition schools as compared to traditional schools.
