Andruss Library at Bloomsburg University (Pennsylvania) to a novice user. It is one component in a self-paced unit in library instruction which also includes an exercise book and a computerized tour of the library. Chapter 1 is concerned with the orientation of the library and covers its physical layout; the library collections; circulation policies; library use guidelines; and floor plans. Chapter 2 examines the reference services of the library including the reference desk; library instruction and orientation; and online searching policies. Chapter 3 examines the online catalog including location of terminals; classification schemes; and search strategies. Chapter 4 introduces reference books, including a discussion of the various types of materials available. Chapter 5 discusses periodicals, abstracts, indexes, and CD-ROM. Finally, Chapter 6 examines the microform collection. Also included are a list of library hours and a glossary of library related terms. (JLB)
