The summer library program presents a comprehensive approach, targeting not only the child who already reads, but those who are not yet reading on their own and for children who have difficulty reading. Program registration and design are handled in different ways in different libraries. Suggestions for planning and promotion are presented and reading logs are provided. The manual also discusses serving children with special needs. Programs, crafts, and games that fit the story spinner theme are suggested.
