It also gives instructions for assigning numerical codes to items based on their collecting level and language, establishes criteria for materials selection, and covers special topics such as gifts, replacement copies, reserves, and weeding. Collection development statements for 33 different subject areas are assembled in part three, while part four offers selection guidelines based on type of source and publication format.
