This book presents their cumulative recommendations. Part 1 has a list of over 1,000 books organized by genre with entries including book title, author, publication date, the year(s) the book was selected to be on the Outstanding Books for the College Bound (OBCB) list, and a brief annotation. Part 2 organizes the books by year chosen for inclusion in the OBCB lists, placing the selections in historical context. The selections are a starting point from which young adult readers may cull a personal reading list, teachers may find ideas for expanding their curricula, and parents, recognizing titles they once read, may find bridges of discussion and debate between the generations.
