More than 600 ethnic-specific programs, mainly African American, are listed. Other such programs include Asian American, Chicano/Latino, Native American, and Puerto Rican studies, as well as programs in Jewish studies, Portuguese studies and others. The entries include program titles, addresses, phone numbers, and a brief description of the degree offered and the special features of each program. An introduction to the history of ethnic-studies programs and a bibliography provide additional resources for users, as does a listing of journals with an ethnic-studies focus. This collection is indexed by type of program and by state. (EH)
