contents Directory of Curriculum Materials Centers. Fourth Edition. Anderson, Beth G., Ed. Curriculum Foreign Countries Higher Education Information Sources Instructional Materials Learning Resources Centers Library Collections Questionnaires Teacher Education Many institutions of higher education in the United States and Canada support their teacher education programs by developing curriculum materials centers (CMCs) which feature instructional materials representative of those found in preschool through high school settings. This directory lists and describes the CMCs or collections at 278 institutions that responded to a questionnaire distributed during the summer of 1995. It gives location and contact information, descriptions based on the institutions' responses to 32 multiple-choice questions, and optional, open- ended comments. This edition is designed to assist the reader in quickly locating a CMC listing by state, province, or institution name. U.S. institutions are listed first, followed by Canadian; both sections are organized alphabetically by state or province. Within a state or province, the institutions are listed alphabetically. In cases where respondents did not provide certain information, the data field is omitted. For each listing, information includes: name and address, including electronic address, and CMC supervisor; type of institution and enrollment; location; reporting line of the CMC supervisor; square footage of the center; budget information; number of hours per week the CMC was open during academic sessions; circulation statistics; staffing levels; information on the CMC bibliographic records; and collection size and types of materials. Listed under General Information are the patron categories to which the CMC circulates materials and, if appropriate, statements of whether the CMC has a written collection development policy and an audiovisual production facility. The optional Comments section notes collection strengths and special features. The questionnaire is appended. (Author/AEF)
