For each of 26 disciplines, a summary review provides a definition of the discipline; information on average salaries by rank, including "new assistant professor"; faculty mix percentage; and comparisons between the two study years and the Consumer Price Index. Appended to the review of each discipline are lists of the 41 disciplines surveyed and the public and private institutions that participated in that segment of the study.
