The postings analyzed were from "American Libraries" and "Library Journal" between November 1995 and November 1996. Major findings indicated that an MLS/ALA degree increased the minimum salary offered, the Midwest region offered the highest vacancy rate of director positions, and the West offered the highest mean salary range for the positions. The content analysis coding form is appended. (Contains 15 references.) (Author)
