From 1998 to 2002, a new LRS strategic plan will allow for continued and enhanced support, the goals of which include improved service, resources, and instruction/learning. To accomplish this mission, LRS will: (1) build an improved materials collection; (2) increase student access to resources; (3) study current LRS space utilization at ACC and implement changes; (4) provide adequate service staff at all LRS locations; (5) support ACC faculty; (6) collaborate with other ACC groups to utilize technological resources; (7) provide more LRS staff development opportunities; (8) foster open communications among staff; (9) standardize district services and procedures; (10) strengthen operations through exemplary leadership; (11) offer innovative instruction; and (12) promote LRS as a program of distinction. LRS also will provide library services, instructional technology, and instructional development in an integrated support system for the educational needs of ACC. Appendices include the ACC mission, survey and focus group results, summary of the LRS Technology Plan, summary of LRS statistics, and plan process and chronology. (YKH)
