The report begins with a section that provides quantitative data. A narrative section describes activities and compares actual accomplishments to project objectives for 1993, including: (1) numbers of English as a Second Language (ESL), Graduate Equivalency Diploma (GED), and adult basic education participants; (2) post-test results and other indications of progress for these adult learners; (3) attendance statistics; (4) library use by participants and their children, including weekly intergenerational library activities; (5) field trips to local sites of interest; (6) establishment of core collections of library materials; and (7) public awareness activities. Proposed and actual expenditures are compared. The role of the library is discussed; the contributions of other organizations are summarized; facilities used are listed; and the impact of the project is considered. Attachments include a flyer, newspaper clippings, student goals list, and family literacy checklist. (MES)
