Brown). The first paper notes that, as brokers of professional information, associations must provide forums for innovators to share their expertise, to form collaborative partnerships, and to implement strategies to ensure that equitable standards are maintained across the full spectrum of school libraries. The second paper discusses the School Libraries Section of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) and argues that associations must provide worthwhile and challenging professional experiences for teacher librarians. The third paper outlines the mandate of a teacher librarians' association within a threefold framework of: leadership, advocacy, and professional development. The final paper discusses the importance of professional support and the need for an association to provide a network of people helping people. Issues that need to be addressed are outlined. (AEF) |
