This report includes information about service measures such as reference transactions, public service hours, interlibrary loans, circulation, library visits, children's program attendance, and circulation of children's materials. It also includes information about size of collection, staffing, operating income and expenditures, type of legal basis, and type of administrative structure. For the first time, data in this report include imputed data for nonresponding libraries, as well as state ranking tables of selected data. For public library service outlets, summary information is provided about the number and type of outlets. There are 39 tables in this report. Technical notes, caveats for using these data, and sources for ordering machine-readable data and publications. (AEF)
