Dick, James Consumer Education Economics Economics Education Elementary Secondary Education Instructional Materials Social Studies This booklet is the 34th edition of "Experiences of Enterprising Teachers" and describes the 42 projects selected to receive National Awards for Teaching Economics. Seventy-four teachers from the primary through the senior high school level developed the curricula to help their students understand how the world works, today, tomorrow, and the day after tomorrow. Guidelines are provided on how to apply for the National Awards for Teaching Economics program. The summaries provided are a sampling of each project selected for recognition. Also included are the National Economic Standards and the Voluntary National Content Standards in Economics. Full texts of first through fourth place award-winning projects are available through Interlibrary Loan with the Milner Library of Illinois State University in Normal, IL, housing the entire collection. There are five parts divided into primary level (grades K-3), intermediate level (grades 4-6), middle/junior high school level (grades 7-9), senior high school level (grades 10-12), and an open category. Winners for first-, second-, third-, and fourth-places are described along with honorable mention summaries in each of the grade levels. (EH)
