Chapter 2, "Ready to Learn," explores the importance of proper rest, nutrition, and physical activity. Chapter 3, "Building Positive Attitudes toward School," suggests ways to help children be receptive to school, including showing the child the importance of learning in the parents' lives. Chapter 4, "Furnishing Your Home for Learning," suggests using games to enhance learning and creating a home library. Chapter 5,"Opportunities To Learn: Making the Best Use of Available Time," suggests looking for natural opportunities to share learning experiences with children. Chapter 6, "Building 'Little Engines Who Can'," discusses ways to encourage children, including helping children become responsible and helping children overcome mistakes.
