WebMAC Junior--2000, a Web evaluation tool developed for use by elementary and lower middle school students to provide hands-on experience in evaluating the strengths and weakness of Web sites, is described and included. The book uses a workbook format and is organized into four major parts each containing several chapters: (1) "Motivation Mining for Information Literacy," including evaluation as a critical information skill and motivation mining and the Web; (2) "Mining Tools for Motivational Assessment," including using a motivational assessment tool to evaluate Web resources, administering and scoring the WebMAC Junior--2000, and interpreting results; (3) "Panning for Web Gold: Making Motivation Mining Work for You," including ideas from educators, other ideas for using the WebMAC instruments, and motivation mining into the future; and (4) "Sharing the Wealth," including a workshop for educators and teaching students to use WebMAC Junior--2000. Appendices include a content validity checklist, lesson plans, WebMAC Middle, WebMAC Junior Long Form, and the Web Site Investigator questionnaire. Includes an index. (MES)
