The survey was designed to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of current library resources and services, to ascertain usage patterns and user satisfaction with resources and services, and to identify future needs of library users for planning. Questions focused on the resources, services, and staff of each department in the main library and in the branch libraries; the availability and ease of finding materials; access to electronic resources both from within the library and from off campus; library instruction courses; facilities and equipment; and demographics. Students were also asked to rank their future needs from a list provided. Seventy-six classes were randomly selected with a sample population of 1,404 students. A total of 1,085 surveys were completed, yielding a return rate of 77%. This report includes a discussion of the methodology, results, and recommendations. Appendices contain a list of classes surveyed, the questionnaire, statistical tables, and representative comments. (Author/MES) |
