The first section describes the collection of online dissertations as the first step toward development of a new procedure for collecting, archiving, and indexing of online publications. The second section addresses the collection of online publications issued by publishers, including criteria for this process, different ways of processing, and various metadata elements. The final section summarizes the following projects concerning electronic publications: dissertations online; META-LIB (a metadata initiative of German libraries; NEDLIB (Networked European Deposit Library); and TEL (The European Library).
