This paper presents an overview of a discussion at the university leading to the construction of a new central library for its Exact Sciences campus. Arguments are presented both in defense of a continuation of the decentralized library and those that were brought forward in favor of a centralized library. Also provided are some guidelines for the library's construction when and if approval was made. (GR)
