The proceedings include the following sections: Discurso de Bienvenida (Welcome Speech) (Carlos Salas); "El Etnocentrismo Mexicano y Los Servicios de Informacion" (Mexican Ethnocentrism and Information Services) (Jesus Lau); "Navigating the Cultural Membrane" (in English) (Sheila Milam); "Transferencica de Informacion Entre Mexico y Estados Unidos" (Information Transfer Between Mexico and the United States) (Margarita Almada de Ascencio); and "Propiedad Intelectual y El Tratado de Libre Comercio" (Intellectual Property and the Treatise on Free Trade) (Julio Javier Cristiani). Topics discussed at "las sesiones de mesas de trabajo" (working table sessions) include: international and interchanging libraries; shared resources; marketing/promoting the library; preservation and conservation; shared cataloging; library education; libraries and new technologies; collection development for linguistic minorities; rural libraries; and strategic planning.
