This document describes Title VI programs and the use of funds in the Austin Independent School District (AISD), Texas for 2000-2001. The AISD allocation of $481,559 was based on the May 2000 projected school enrollment, including projected enrollment in eligible private schools and facilities for neglected or delinquent children. Some funds were rolled forward from 1999-2000 so that a total of $488,490 was allocated to target assistance areas, with a remaining $45,196 allocated for management and evaluation. The following programs were funded by Title VI in the AISD in the 2000-2001 school year: (1) a coordinator of volunteers; (2) AISD library resources; (3) instructional materials; (4) private schools and facilities for the neglected or delinquent; (5) visiting teachers (one full-time and one 30% position); (6) a mathematics specialist; (8) Reading Recovery staff (two positions); (9) management; and (10) evaluation.
