Chapter 1, "Instructional Programs," presents creative programs and Web sites that public libraries have developed to teach children and their parents about the Internet and how to use it. Chapter 2, "Curriculum-Related Programs," describes interesting programs and Web sites developed by youth service librarians in school and public libraries for teaching children effective searching skills, as well as Web sites that librarians have developed to support curriculum-related research units. Chapter 3, "Summer Reading Programs," profiles some of the Web sites and methods librarians have created to enhance traditional summer reading programs for young people. Chapter 4, "Recreational Programs," describes resourceful programs and Web sites that youth service librarians have developed that enable young people to use the Internet for creative expression or recreational exploration. Chapter 5, "The Youth Cybrarian's Source Box," suggests Web sites that provide helpful tools to use when teaching young people how to use the Web. Includes a glossary and an index.
