Following an Introduction, chapters in the handbook are: (1) Why We Need Parent Involvement in Our Schools; (2) Diversity in Schools; (3) The ABC's of Parent Involvement; (4) Involving Parents in the Classroom; (5) Involving Parents at the School Level; (6) Involving Parents at the District Level; (7) Parental Involvement at the State Level; (8) Family Resource Centers; (9) Community Partnerships; (10) Staff Development Training for Teachers to Work More Effectively with Parents; (11) Concerns and Questions Most Frequently Asked by Parents about Parent Involvement at the School Level; and (12) Historical Background on Parental Involvement in Schools. A section on annotated resources and other materials is attached. Appendixes contain concerns and issues most frequently expressed by parents; a brief essay "Teachers Must Use a Full Set of 'Tools' to Teach Reading" (Yvonne M.
