A total of 70 of 124 ARL member libraries responded to the survey. A copy of the questionnaire with tabulated results is presented. Representative documents include: (1) organization charts from the University of California-Los Angeles, Cornell University (New York), University of Florida, George Washington University (District of Columbia), Indiana University Bloomington, University of Iowa, University of Manitoba, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Universite de Montreal (Quebec) Northwestern University (Illinois), Ohio State University, Temple University (Pennsylvania), Texas A&M University, University of Virginia, Washington State University, and Wayne State University (Michigan); (2) mission statements from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, Indiana University Bloomington, Temple University, University of Tennessee, Texas A&M University, and Wayne State University; position descriptions from the University at Albany-SUNY (Sate University of New York), University of Hawaii at Manoa, Indiana University Bloomington, Michigan State University, Temple University, and University of Western Ontario; (3) policy and procedure statements from the University of British Columbia and Temple University; and (4) evaluation documents from the University of British Columbia, Cornell University, Ohio State University, and Vanderbilt University (Tennessee). A list of selected resources, including five books and 33 Web sites, is included. (MES)
