Oliver, Kathleen Burr Library Role College Libraries Research Libraries Medical Libraries Lifelong Learning Library Services Librarians Technology Integration This document is intended to stimulate thinking about the role of the library in the digital age, about the potential--and the imperative--for libraries to meet new needs, and about how these needs will influence the design of physical space. The following essays are included in this document: (1) "The Library as Place: Changes in Learning Patterns, Collections, Technology, and Use" (Geoffrey T.
