Statistical data from those reports are tabulated in this publication, with directory listings published in the companion volume, California Library Directory. For this fiscal year four hundred and eight libraries of all types submitted data to this program. It is estimated that there are at least 1,000 libraries in operation in California, exclusive of school libraries, so data in this publication is about 40% complete this year. (Contains 107 tables.)
