This "Informed Educator" examines both the elements of an effective school library media center and the evolving role of library media specialist. Research focused on the link between the school library media center and student achievement is examined. Some legal issues related to media centers are highlighted, and finally, the role of school leaders in building and maintaining a strong media center program is discussed. (Contains 1 figure.) |
