The partnerships illustrate a range of examples of how museums, libraries, public broadcasters, and other vital community organizations can collaborate to address relevant local issues, from raising awareness about substance abuse in Alaska to conserving family heirlooms in Nebraska to helping educate families about childhood asthma in Boston. Many of the communities still feel the residual impact of these grants, because some of these relationships have generated new funding and collaborations. The goal in Partnership for a Nation of Learners was to cultivate the art of partnering. Lessons Learned sections detail many tips and best practices the grantees have provided to illuminate their experiences.
