Information Sources Library Education Library Science Reference Materials Teaching There is no common basis for determining what constitutes the literature of a subject. Although knowledge exists on the bibliometric and documentation characteristics of many subjects, library schools continue to teach basic reference sources in large groups of subject areas. Four criteria for determining the scope of subject literature are suggested. (Author)
