- Why Do We Need Future Ready Librarians? That Kid. Ray, Mark School Libraries Individualized Education Programs Library Services Librarians Outreach Programs Elementary Secondary Education In this article, the author examines the need of the Future Ready Librarians (FRL) initiative. The FRL Framework helps define how librarians might lead, teach, and support schools based on the core research-based components defined by Future Ready. The framework and initiative are intended to be ways to change the conversation about school libraries and librarians by connecting them to the strategic work of schools and districts. Having a Future Ready Librarian, he argues, can foster outreach towards the non-traditional student or "That Kid."
