  • The Intervention Strategies of Sleep Quality among College Students: A Quantitative Review Wang, Feifei Intervention Sleep Health Behavior College Students Educational Research Physical Activities Metacognition Behavior Modification Cognitive Restructuring Therapy Program Effectiveness Over the last decade, sleep quality becomes serious issue in academic research. There was an increasing number of interventions conducted to improve sleep quality. Objective: This review aims to provide a better understanding on how the intervention on sleep quality develops and to explore the effectiveness of those intervention strategies among college students. Methods: This review disclosed the published research papers from three databases: PubMed, Web of Science and Cochrane Library with the combination of key searching terms--sleep quality, intervention strategies, insomnia, college students. Results: Fifteen studies conducted among college students were included. The results indicated that exercise elicits changes in sleep, moderate exercise intervention is highly recommended for sleep benefits. In addition, cognitive behavior therapies (CBT) showed effective sleep outcomes. Singular trials worked with lavender also showed prospective results. Conclusion: Various efforts in improving sleep quality have been examined, CBT and moderate physical exercise as methods of interacting with sleep quality received keen awareness. Future studies are suggested to enhance the long-term effects of these sleep intervention strategies.
