Since its initial launch in 2011, the National Jukebox has grown to include more than 16,000 recordings from the Victor, Columbia, and Harmony labels, made up of contributions from organizations such as Sony Music Entertainment, the University of California, Santa Barbara and EMI Music, Inc. as well as recordings donated by individual collectors. In addition to providing access to the recordings themselves, the National Jukebox site includes several resources that allow for further context and interactivity with the content. As the National Jukebox continues to develop, the addition of more features provides teachers, students, and other researchers the opportunity to engage with the recordings in new and exciting ways.
