- Missed Opportunities: The Representation of Librarians in Faculty Development Journals Jane Hammons Faculty Development Periodicals Academic Libraries Library Instruction Librarians Library Role Librarian Teacher Cooperation Evidence from the Library and Information Science (LIS) literature shows that academic librarians can effectively collaborate on or lead faculty development initiatives. However, it is not clear if and how librarians' engagement with faculty development is represented within the Faculty Development (FD) literature. This study reviews three FD journals to determine how librarians are represented in the FD literature. The findings support the need for increased dialogue between faculty developers and librarians about the potential for librarians to meaningfully contribute to faculty development programming.
