This study attempted to understand the acquisition management in the university libraries in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region of Pakistan. The study adopted a survey method and included all those well-established public and private sector universities that were chartered by the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and recognized by HEC until December 31, 2012, in the province (Public = 17 and Private = 9; Total = 26 universities). The population of this study was the senior library professionals working in the central libraries of the main campuses of all the universities in the province. The study's findings show that the acquisition management in the university libraries in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is more focused on fulfilling the curriculum requirements of the parent institutions to which they are attached.
