Significantly, in this lab project students learn experimental design strategy. The challenge for students is to determine the strategy that they can take to efficiently screen for the success of the genomic library construction. The collaborative rDNA technology project requires basic equipment and reagents available in the molecular biology teaching lab and yet provides an advanced molecular cell biology learning experience and sparks enthusiasm for the molecular life sciences and biotechnology.
