  • If You Build It, They Will Get a Tote Bag: Reimagining a University Library's Workshops through a Collaborative Incentive Program Kelly Marie Blanchat Tess Colwell Jennifer Snow Academic Libraries Incentives Library Instruction Workshops Universities Cooperation Librarians Interdisciplinary Approach Partnerships in Education Cost Effectiveness Program Descriptions Educational Quality Three Yale University librarians from different departments collaborated on a Workshop Incentive Program to increase library workshop attendance, streamline outreach, and strengthen partnerships. While badging and gamification initiatives are widely used in academic libraries for outreach purposes, there are few examples of incentive programs for optional library workshops, including those that are cumulative and material. This article presents a case study example of an academic library that incentivized workshop participation through low-cost prizes, aiming to fill this gap. The authors of the study share the challenges and successes of the program as well as recommendations for libraries that are considering a similar initiative.
