Cantel Joseph Marmol Yap Foreign Countries Graduate Students Information Seeking Theological Education Student Surveys Library Services Access to Internet Educational Resources Online Searching Information Needs Positive Attitudes This study investigates the information search process of graduate students in a select theological college in Myanmar. A descriptive-quantitative design was used, and a survey method was employed. During the initiation stage of Kuhlthau's Information Search Process (ISP), visits to the library create intimidation. Upon reaching the selection stage where library support is available, graduate students become familiar with their topics. After seeking relevant information in the exploration stage, the study revealed that browsing library shelves is common among graduate students. The student's ability to clarify and ensure their understanding of available resources makes the formulation stage an easy task. After gaining a sense of direction of their topics, students access the library shelves and available electronic resources during the collection stage. This happens despite regular electricity blackout. Finally, during the presentation stage, graduate students reported a positive experience when they successfully identified and accessed the needed information. |
