- Content Creation among Library and Information Science Undergraduates in Nigerian Varsities Ishioma Nwanapayi Iwegbue Nelson Edewor Foreign Countries Undergraduate Students Library Education Social Media Academic Achievement Student Improvement Creative Activities Student Motivation Audiences This study investigated the factors influencing content creation among Nigerian varsity students and the effect it has on their academic performance and individual improvement. Through interviews and empirical studies, this research looked at the motivations, challenges, and benefits related with content creation among Nigerian library and information science undergraduates. The study also examined the types of content being created, the platforms utilized for dissemination, and the target audience. Findings show that Nigerian library and information science students engage in content creation for a variety of reasons, including creative expression, building a personal brand, and generating income (blogs). However, they are faced with challenges such as need of technical skills, limited access to resources, and time limitations due to academic commitments. In spite of these challenges, content creation has been found to have a positive effect on the academic performance and personal development of Nigerian varsity undergraduates. It allows them to explore their interests, create new skills, and connect with their colleagues both within and outside their university community. This research shed light on the growing trend of content creation among Nigerian varsity undergraduates and provided insights into how institutions and policymakers can strengthen and saddle the potential of this creative and tactical movement of youths.
