Elementary Secondary Education Evaluation Criteria Media Specialists Personnel Evaluation Principals A sample of 30 principals were interviewed regarding their understanding of terms describing the functions of media specialists as stated in the 1983 North Carolina evaluation instrument, and their sources of knowledge for making judgments about media specialist performance. Responses revealed substantial reliance on media specialists for assessment of their own achievements and involvement. (19 references) (MES)
