Kerslake, Evelyn Goulding, Anne Cost Effectiveness Entry Workers Job Training Libraries Library Administrators Library Personnel Library Surveys Part Time Employment Staff Orientation A survey of 551 library managers and analysis of statements made by library managers in 12 discussion groups identified problematic areas in the induction (staff orientation) of flexible workers: (1) extensive induction for temporary and casual staff is not considered cost effective; and (2) part-time workers often have to wait if induction sessions take place on days they do not work.
