Cataloging Classification Information Sources Library Catalogs Library Technical Processes Reference Materials Subject Index Terms Vocabulary Womens Studies The ACRL (Association of College and Research Libraries) Women's Studies Section Technical Services Committee investigated subject headings assigned to core works in women's studies. Annotations for the works were compared with subject headings on OCLC cataloging by Library of Congress. Inadequacies were: terminology; complexities of assigning headings in interdisciplinary and/or emerging fields; and standard cataloging practices. (Author/AEF)
