Many librarians have spent more than a decade trumpeting the need for students to become information literate, but few Americans who are not librarians have a clue what information literacy is. They do not know why it is important, and they do not understand how librarians teach it. In this article, the importance of librarians making themselves known in the world of research is stressed. |
