The Association of Rural and Small Libraries (ARSL) met with the Association of Bookmobile and Outreach Services (ABOS) so members could learn from one another and grapple with similar issues. Representing 36 states and New Zealand, 205 people attended. In her keynote, American Library Association (ALA) president, Carol Brey-Casiano reflected on her first eight years in librarianship working with bookmobiles and in rural libraries. This article discusses the events that took place during that annual conference and the issues discussed.
