The forces of technology, and privatization are changing the nature of their work environment, even as their fundamental mission remains, for now, the same. Committed as they both are to the world of ideas and the life of the mind, it is imperative that they come together in these uncertain times, that they each draw on distinct expertise to craft a new model or models, however haltingly at first, rather than allowing the winds of change, and unbridled commercialism, to drive them apart.
