These include the perception that pointing out differences is exclusionary; the misunderstanding that talking about the issues facing NextGen's means those issues are exclusive to that group; and the problem that people's interaction with individuals tends to shape ideas about an entire group. Unfortunately, these miscues can cause people to shut down before really hearing what their colleagues are saying. This brief article evaluates this dilemma through a discussion divided into the following sections: The age-blind failure; We are what we watch; and When NextGen is now.
