contents Partners in Anticrime: Kathy Mclellan and Tricia Suellentrop--Johnson County Library, KS Reading Programs Juvenile Justice Correctional Education Adolescents Institutionalized Persons Correctional Institutions Youth Problems Discussion Groups Library Services Kathy McLellan and Tricia Suellentrop share a love of reading and a deep empathy for troubled teens, but they bring different strengths to their partnership. Suellentrop, according to McLellan, is the risk taker, the one who's "always willing to try something new and doesn't hesitate to step out there on the precipice." McLellan is the designated sensible person, the one who, Suellentrop says, "always sees the just solution and asks the good questions." They both feel that some librarians do not treat young adults fairly. They want librarians to remember what it felt like to be a teen. This article briefly discusses the work these two librarians have done with youth services.
